After a season that left the Nolensville Lady Knights with a district tournament win, junior hoops standout Grace Baird earns our 2019 Female Athlete of the Year recognition for Nolensville High School.
Baird helped lead the team to a 12-AA title in February, where the district coaches named her 12-AA’s MVP.
“She can play inside, she can play outside, she shoots the ball really well,” Nolensville coach Chris Ladd said in a feature on Baird. “She can run the point guard for us, so we kind of use her in a lot of different ways depending on how the other team is guarding us. And she can defend really well.”
She was named a finalist for the Home Page’s 2019 Girls Basketball Player of the Year, and was a finalist for Female Athlete of the Year and Girls Basketball Player of the Year in the county’s 2019 WillCos.
The feature article we ran on Baird says that, as of January, she has college interest from Trevecca, Alabama-Birmingham, Lipscomb, Florida Gulf Coast and Tennessee Tech for post-high school basketball career.
