Caleb Goats, son of Bekki and Greg Goats, is a junior at Nolensville High School and a member of the varsity boys cross country team.
This season, he is most proud of accomplishing a new personal record of 17:36.
Goats got his start in running the summer of his freshman year when he participated in a 5k. He said that he placed rather well and was encouraged by others to pursue cross country. Since then, he hasn’t stopped.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he answered, “To break my PR’s and train as hard as possible and to improve each race.”
One of Goats’ biggest role models and inspirations is Mo Farah, a British distance runner.
“He has never given up on his running career,” he said. “Also, one of the best runners from the 5k to the marathon.”
NHS cross country coach said of Goats, “Caleb has been training hard all season and has been very focused and dedicated to the team. His hard work has paid off individually and made him a huge team contributor.”
After graduating from NHS, he plans to pursue a career as a real estate agent.
