Jack McWilliams, son of Scott and Maureen McWilliams, is a junior at Nolensville High School and a member of the varsity football team.
He plays the position of strong safety.
So far this season, he is leading the team in interceptions with two.
He started playing football at the age of seven. He said that several of his family members played, so it just felt natural to join in. He said for as long as he can remember, he has loved the game.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete, he said he owes it all to his family for their encouragement.
His biggest role model and inspiration is Sean Taylor. Taylor was a free safety for the Washington Redskins.
“I try to model my game after his; the way he flew around and his hard hitting,” McWilliams said.
Nolensville’s football coach, Will Hester said of McWilliams, “Jack is the quarterback of our defense he has been a great leader and player for our team this year. He has made several big plays in our games this year. He has really improved each week.”
After finishing at Nolensville, he plans to go to a Division 1 university and continue playing football there.
