Josh Dellinger, son of Buck and Cricket Dellinger, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the Varsity Boys Cross Country team.
This season, he accomplished a record time of 16:34 in the 5k.
Dellinger said he started running for fun in road races in the community.
When asked what inspires him to train and compete he said, “beating and upsetting my rivals in Williamson County.”
One of his biggest role models and inspirations is his father, Buck. “He does so much and has taught me well at being a better person,” he said.
Head Cross Country Coach Peter Mueller said of Dellinger:
Since transferring to Ravenwood right before his sophomore year, Jack has been on a steady climb, training diligently, racing a little faster every time out, and helping lead our boys cross country and track teams. On Saturday, October 13, he finished number one for Ravenwood for the first time ever with a new PR of 16:35. His tenth place overall finish led the Raptors and helped them finish runners up at the Mid State Championship for the second consecutive season. He is a leader at practice, in races, and in the classroom… and is known for his subtle sense of humor and wardrobe choices.
When he’s not running, Dellinger enjoys hanging out with friends. He also just completed his career as a Boy Scout.
After graduating from RHS, he plans to pursue a career as an electrician.
