Natalie Conlon, daughter of Chris and Nicki Conlon, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the Varsity Football Cheerleading Team.
Conlon said the best part of this season has been time with her teammates.
“We are all so close that it makes cheerleading fun!” she said. She added that seeing the team go 8-0 and being in the playoffs was a huge highlight.
Before cheering, Conlon was a dancer. However, in fifth grade, she expressed to her mother that she was growing weary of it. Her mother suggested trying cheer and she’s been doing it ever since.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “having your coaches and family smile after… you feel as if it paid off.”
Her mother, Nicki, is one of her biggest supporters and role models.
“She always aspires for me to be the best I can be,” she said. “She’s my best friend.”
RHS Cheer Coaches Stephanie Dykes and Katie Cagle said of Conlon, “Natalie Conlon is a wonderfully talented and spirited cheerleader to have as a member of the squad. She has one of the best attitudes, staying positive in all situations, whether at practice or on the sideline. She is well-deserving of Athlete of the Week.”
Outside of cheering, she enjoys snow skiing, wakeboarding and traveling.
After graduating from RHS this spring, she plans to pursue a career in Nursing at The University of Alabama.
