Daniel Niter, son of Kamisha and Corey Niter, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Basketball Team and plays the position of point guard.
Niter said that moving up to the Varsity team has been one of the biggest highlights this season.
He said from a young age, he loved basketball and remembers watching NBA games in hopes of becoming just like those players.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “I believe that God has given me a gift, and I want to be the best that I can be.”
His biggest role models are his parents. “They help me and encourage me to do my best,” he said.
Head Basketball Coach Patrick Whitlock said of Niter, “Daniel has put in a lot of extra time to work on his game and has given us a big lift late in the season. His attitude and work ethic are unparalleled.”
Outside of basketball, he enjoys playing video games and reading.
Once in college, he hopes to pursue a career as a doctor.
