Savannah Dews, daughter of Tamika and Tony Dews, is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Girls Basketball Team and plays the position of forward. Her best stat for this season was going three consecutive games with a double-double.
Dews said she’s played basketball on and off since fourth grade and realized it’s just what she’s best at.
Coach Harris, the Head Girls Basketball Coach, said of Dews, “Savannah has really helped our team the past several weeks with her offensive presence scoring and her rebounding on both ends of the floor. She has had three games in a row where she averaged a double double.”
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said, “My mom, the strongest most supportive person on the planet.”
She also said her mother is her biggest role model. “She never gives up on me and she is always herself no matter what.”
Dews describes herself as outgoing, athletic, loud, smart and confident. Outside of basketball, she enjoys volunteering, knitting and drawing.
After graduating from RHS in a couple of years, she is planning to go to New York’s Columbia University to pursue a career as a Neonatologist.
