Chloe Julius, daughter of Katey and Michael Julius, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team. She said one of the biggest highlights of her career is when she gets to call cheers for the games.
Julius has been cheering for almost 12 years. She owes her start to her sister. “My older sister was a Ravenwood cheerleader and I wanted to follow in her footsteps,” she said. She started out on the Brentwood Blaze team, then moved to All-Star competition, then Ravenwood’s team.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “I like to think that my smiling and cheering helps the team feel confident in their abilities and win the game.”
RHS Cheer Coach Joan E. Obot said of Julius, “Chloe Julius is a fantastic and enthusiastic basketball cheerleader. She exemplifies true leadership and works extremely hard both on and off the court.”
Her biggest role model is her older sister, Jessica. “When I originally started cheerleading, it was my end goal to become a Ravenwood cheerleader like she was,” she said. “She was always so hard working and I strive to be as good as her one day.”
She describes herself as hardworking, confident, friendly and caring. Outside of cheer, she enjoys playing guitar, singing, and attending events at her home church.
In the fall, she plans to attend The University of Tennessee- Knoxville where she will major in Marketing.
