Lexi Erickson, daughter of Rick and Shelly Erickson, is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Girls Basketball Team and plays the position of point guard.
Erickson started playing basketball when she was six years old because her whole family played. She said she immediately thought it was fun and kept playing.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “My teammates because they always push me to be my best.”
Head Basketball Coach Mariska Harris said of Erickson, “Lexi is our main ball-handler, outside shooting threat, and has to lead our team on the floor for 32 minutes as our captain and point guard. She works so hard on both ends of the floor. I love coaching her because she is so competitive and driven.”
One of her biggest role models is her sister. “She is the most hardworking, humble person I know,” Erickson said.
She describes herself as hardworking, dedicated, determined and trustworthy. Outside of basketball, she enjoys playing softball and drawing.
After graduating from RHS in a couple of years, she plans to continue her basketball career in college.
