Jacqueline Hahamyan, daughter of Anna and Arnold Hahamyan, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Kerr & Co. Realty Athlete of the Week.
She is a member of the Varsity Girls Tennis Team and plays in the 1st seed. This season, she said her biggest highlight so far has been beating Franklin High’s top player.
She started playing tennis at the age of seven after her mother signed her up for lessons. She said since that first lesson, she’s loved the sport.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “Something that inspires me is striving to prove people wrong when they underestimate me.”
RHS Tennis Coach Chris Bates said of Hahamyan, “Being in the Williamson County district, playing number one girls singles for Ravenwood is no easy task. Our district has some of the best players in the state, and Jacqueline goes head to head with them each match. The most recent match was against Franklin High, a team that could very well win State if they make it out of the district. After losing line one doubles, Jacqueline battled to win her singles match 8-6 and was the only win for the girls that day.”
Hahamyan said her biggest role models are her parents, Anna and Arnold. “They showed me how with hard work and dedication, nothing is impossible,” she said.
She describes herself as ambitious, motivated and honest. Outside of tennis, she enjoys playing ukulele and spending time with her friends.
After graduating from RHS, she plans to pursue a career in business, as well as continue to grow her current company, Onward Careers.
