Battle of Franklin Trust seats new board officers

The Battle of Franklin Trust Board this week announced a new slate of officers.

Last year, Carnton Plantation and The Carter House merged to create a single board of directors, which, according to the trust, has strengthened preservation efforts in Franklin.

The newly appointed officers are:

• Chair – Cullen Smith

• Vice-President – Dave Fentress

• Treasurer – Mike Plumley

• Secretary – Tim Kearns

These officers and the full board of directors will work on behalf of The Carter House and Carnton to further preserve the history and heritage of the Battle of Franklin and its historic sites.

The Battle of Franklin Trust is a 501(c)3 management corporation acting on behalf of Franklin’s battlefield sites to contribute to a greater understanding and enrich the visitor experience of the Nov. 30, 1864, battle. It is organized for the charitable and educational purposes of preserving, restoring, maintaining and interpreting the properties, artifacts and documents related to the battle so as to preserve an important part of the nation’s history.
