Blue Heron Cruise on June 27 features scenery, wildlife on the lake

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department invites area seniors (55+) to participate in an upcoming day trip on Thursday, June 27 aboard the Blue Heron Cruise.

Captain Jim, considered the nature cruise pioneer of Middle Tennessee, has been offering boat rides on the Cumberland River since 2001. In 2018, he moved his location to the Percy Priest Lake. The new scenery is beautiful and wildlife plentiful. Lunch (dutch treat) will be at the Fate Sanders Marina restaurant. The cost of the outing is $25.

Transportation is available from two Parks and Rec locations: the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr., Spring Hill (departing at 8:15 a.m., returning at 3:00 p.m.) and the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin (departing at 8:45 a.m., returning at 2:30 p.m.) Registration is open at www.wcparksandrec.com. Registration code #14648.
