The new year always starts with new resolutions. Some of the most common resolutions revolve around getting in shape, losing weight and being more active.

Brentwood residents now have a new neighbor that can help them follow through on those resolutions.

Orangetheory Fitness Brentwood, a new group interval fitness program focused on scientifically proven heart-rate monitored workouts, will open in early spring in Brentwood. The fitness studio will be located in the new Shops at Seven Springs retail development at 710 Old Hickory Blvd.

New neighbor has deal for NHP readers

Orangetheory Fitness Brentwood, a new group interval fitness program focused on scientifically proven heart-rate monitored workouts, will open in early spring in Brentwood. The fitness studio will be located in the new Shops at Seven Springs retail development at 710 Old Hickory Blvd.

The new studio is committed to fitness and to being an active community partner. In fact, Orangetheory Fitness has already signed on as a sponsor for the Crieve Hall Running Club and plans to support other local organizations.

‘We’re so excited to bring the Orangetheory workout to Tennessee and to be a part of the neighborhood community,’ Brigitte Edwards, Orangetheory Fitness Brentwood’s owner, said. ‘In fact, we’d like to offer Brentwood Home Page readers a free workout once we’re open.

‘We’ll also give any Brentwood Home Page reader who signs up for a premiere membership a free duffel bag with things to help your workout including a heart-rate monitor.’

Edwards revealed that one advantage of signing up prior to the grand opening is a founder’s rate that is lower than any advertised rate and the lowest the studio will ever offer.

So what exactly is an Orangetheory workout? It’s a one-of-a-kind, group/personal training workout broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. Backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), Orangetheory Fitness’ heart-rate-monitored training is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy.

Skilled instructors lead the workouts and participants use a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, SBT Suspension Training and free weights. You’ll burn 500 to 1,000 calories per class. The result is the Orange Effect, which creates calorie burn for up to 36 hours after a workout. That means your body keeps working even after the workout stops.

When the studio opens (stay tuned ‘ the official opening date has not yet been determined), grand opening festivities will include fun, food and giveaways, as well as a kick-off to Orangetheory Fitness’ 6-Week Weight Loss Challenge.

Participants in the Weight Loss Challenge attend four 60-minute workout sessions per week. The goal is to show the greatest improvement over six weeks, measured by percentage of weight loss. Participation is limited.

The participant with the highest percent of weight loss will walk away with $2,500.

‘I’d love to hear from any of our new neighbors who want information about Orangetheory or who want a preview of our new studio,’ said Edwards. ‘Come by and see what we’re up to!’
