Currey Ingram plans celebration for 50th year since it began as Westminster School

CURREY INGRAM ACADEMY

Currey Ingram Academy will celebrate its 50th anniversary with two events on April 27 – Westminster School of Nashville Brunch and 50th Anniversary Celebration.

The Westminster School of Nashville Brunch at 10 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3910 West End Ave., welcomes back all Westminster alumni, families, faculty and staff and celebrates the founding of the school —  when Carol and (the late) Bobby Henderson asked Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1968 to consider opening a school that would serve their son and others like him.

In 2002, thanks to a gift from John and Stephanie Currey Ingram, Westminster School moved to its current location in Brentwood and was renamed Currey Ingram Academy. The mission remains the same – empowering students with learning differences to achieve their fullest potential. Today, the school educates 300 students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The 50th Anniversary Celebration is from 2 to 4 p.m. on the Currey Ingram campus, 6544 Murray Lane, Brentwood. The celebration includes entertainment by the middle school and upper school rock bands and student performers, a children’s zone, silk-screening signature anniversary T-shirts, alumni tent, and much more.
