Fair hits record numbers; catch unlimited midway rides, fireworks on Friday

The Williamson County Fair has already broken attendance records, seeing more than 200,000 visitors this year as of this past Wednesday.

And even though the fair is winding down, there’s still a lot of entertainment on the agenda.

Another “Fair Friday” on August 10 means unlimited midway rides are $25 from 6 p.m. until midnight.

The NISSAN Bluegrass stage will be host to a large selection of musical entertainment, as Jack Daniels & The Hard Lickers kick things off at 6 p.m., followed by Code of the Hills at 7:30 p.m. and Uncle Shuffalo & His Haint Hollow Hootenanny at rounding out the night’s shows at 9 p.m.

Beginning at 6 p.m., you can catch the Miniature Donkey Show, Jr. Market Lamb Show and Commercial Ewe Show at the Tractor Supply Co. Livestock Village.

The Williamson County volunteer fire and rescue personnel will showcase the challenges firemen face when responding to victims entrapped in a motor vehicle accident as they demonstrate their training, skills and expertise while performing a vehicle extrication at the Fireman’s Challenge on Friday, Aug. 10 and Saturday, Aug. 11 in the Fair Village.

Ongoing favorites like the Kids Celebration Mega Show, Milking Demonstrations, Little 1’s Farming, Childrens’ Barnyard, Lady Houdini, MindWorks and the 4-H and Youth Village will continue daily for the whole family to enjoy.

Fair goers can cap off their Friday evening with a stunning fireworks display at 10 p.m. and midway rides until midnight.
