While Christmas Day has logged itself in the books for 2018, there still be festive spirit all around for families in Franklin looking for a bit of cinematic cheer.
The Franklin Theatre has a full schedule of films ahead for the week, including a trip into a familiar wardrobe, a Disney-ready take on a classic holiday tale and more.
The Movie Gang, a local group who hosts movie-themed events at the theater, will host a special screening of 2005’s Disney imagining of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Friday, Dec. 28.
The event will feature pre-screening activities at 6:30 p.m., a book for all in attendance and servings of Turkish Delight, a nod to Narnia. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
If you’re still wanting to hop into the Christmas spirit one last time before it’s time to put the tree and ornaments back in the garage or attic, you can take the family to catch early shows of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms starting Saturday, Dec. 29.
The Mark Wahlberg/Rose Byrne dramedy Instant Family and the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody both start a run at the theater on Sunday, Dec. 30. The latter figures to garner a few Academy Award nominations.
If you’d like a little music to send you out for 2018, rock-blues artist Lee Roy Parnell will host a show Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. Special guests include former American Idol contestant Casey James and Grammy-winning songwriter and artist Mike Reid.
