Sunday night’s storm, complete with dropping temperatures, thunder, hail, and a brief downpour, may have routed activities like Westhaven’s Balloon Fest, but sunshine will prevail (mostly) this week.

National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Regan said last night’s storm “slipped out of Kentucky,” pushing quickly through Nashville and Williamson County before fizzling out around the Alabama border.

“Sometimes models don’t pick up very well on the developments that occur with that,” he said of the storm.

This week, sunshine and warm temperatures in the 70s and 80s will remain even if a storm occurs midweek.

While the forecast shows possible thunderstorms on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Regan said a storm is most likely to occur on Wednesday.

The weekend will likely remain dry, with temperatures pushing toward the nineties.
