How do the pros do it? Thompson’s Station event shares cookie decorating secrets

Homestead Manor in Thompson’s Station and Hattie Jane’s Creamery in Columbia both are offering cookie-themed events next week.

Homestead Manor will host a professionally led cookie and cake decorating class on Sunday, Dec. 16.

“This is a special time of year, and we’re excited to offer several opportunities for the
community to enjoy time together,” Sally Mink, Marketing Director for A. Marshall Hospitality,
said.

Hattie Jane’s third-annual Milk and Cookies event will offer the opportunity to snap the perfect holiday photo with Santa at its Columbia, Tenn. location on Friday, Dec. 14.

Homestead Manor will partner with downtown Franklin’s Triple Crown Bakery for a cookie and cake decorating class from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 16, in the antebellum property’s glass bar.

The class offers a perfect event for a ladies’ afternoon out or a special time with children. Pastry chef Alena Vaughn, owner of Triple Crown Bakery, will walk through her cookie and cake decorating method, leaving guests with tips and tricks for their own holiday gatherings and parties.

Tickets for the cookie decorating class are $45 per person and include six cookies along with instructions and decorating materials, complimentary coffee, and a hot chocolate bar.

Mimosas, champagne and wine will also be available for purchase.

At the Columbia event, Santa will make a special stop at Hattie Jane’s Creamery from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14.

Tickets will include one photo with Santa and a special snack of Hattie Jane’s homemade cookies and milk from local Hatcher Family Dairy. The cost to attend is $15 for up to four people and $2 for every additional person. Extra photos with Santa are $5 each and both a digital and a printed copy of each photo will be provided.

The Creamery’s freshly brewed coffee and specialty coffee beverages will also be available for purchase, along with tasty ice creams from its new winter menu, featuring flavors like Gingersnap, Nog & Rum, Malted Peppermint Mocha, Candy Cane and Caramel Cake.
