The Natchez Trace District of the Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America will honor the service and dedication of Judy Hayes to the local community at the 2019 Williamson County Good Scout Event on Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019.
Hayes served as a Williamson County Commissioner for 28 years representing District 3 as well as giving guidance to environmental stewardship, heritage tourism, and historic preservation efforts. She was instrumental in the revival of the Williamson County Fair.
Along with her public service, Hayes also taught at Bethesda and Grassland Elementary Schools. Her recognitions for her outstanding community service are numerous, to include the Caroline J. Cross Award and the Anne T. Rutherford Exemplary Community Volunteer.
The Burwood community resident and fourth generation Williamson Countian lost her husband of 55 years, Jim Hayes, who passed away this past January.
The Natchez Trace District serves 3,551 local Scouts in Williamson County, teaching them citizenship, physical fitness and leadership development. Contributions from this event will go directly to support the programs of the Natchez Trace District, Boy Scouts of America.
