"Mamma Mia!" brings comedy, ABBA songs to the stage April 12 at The Factory

Columbia State Community College’s commercial entertainment program will present this year’s annual spring musical, “Mamma Mia!” April 12 in the Jamison Hall at The Factory.

ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.

“Our students are having so much fun rehearsing this high-energy musical,” said Cathy Hudnall, Columbia State program director and assistant professor of commercial entertainment. “They can’t wait to perform this wonderful show full of ABBA’s spectacular songs.”

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $18 for adults and $14 for students, seniors and children ages 10 and under. Group rates are available online.

To purchase tickets, visit www.ColumbiaState.edu/MammaMia, or call 615.790.4420. Hudnall encourages everyone to purchase their tickets in advance as seating is limited.

The Factory is located at 230 Franklin Road, Franklin. Additional information about the commercial entertainment program can be found at www.ColumbiaState.edu/CEN.
