Outside of its monthly Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings, the Town of Nolensville had few other general open meetings where town leaders could publicly discuss issues pertaining to the town’s interests.
That changed last Thursday when the town’s alderman voted unanimously to approve a resolution that would create quarterly open meetings. Discussion about a need for this type of meeting began, Mayor Jimmy Alexander said Thursday, after a January Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) meeting.
The newly approved workshops will be an hour long and will take place just before the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting at Town Hall. Regular workshop dates for 2019 are March 7, June 6, Sept. 5 and Dec 5.
An agenda will be posted in advance, and all workshops will be open to the public.
“Anything is up for discussion,” Alexander said Thursday night. “That’s the way I see it.”
