John Brent Holladay, Sr. passed away on Dec. 4, 2017. He was 70.
Brent is preceded in death by his parents, George Eulon and Violet Hill Holladay; sister, Helen Hughes and brother, Lionel George Holladay. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lane Holladay; son, John Brent Holladay, Jr. (Eve); daughters, Rachel Holladay Stooksbury (Mark) and Rebecca Holladay Abel (Brad); grandchildren, Hannah Grace Abel and Maggie Danielle, John Mark and Ethan Thomas Stooksbury; nieces and nephews, William David Hughes, Holly Beth Hughes, Lionel George Holladay, Jr., Lisa Holladay Roberts-Richards, Samuel Buford Holladay and his faithful companion, Dolly.
Brent was a faithful husband, loving father and loyal patriot. An outdoorsman, he loved fishing and all animals. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. His entrepreneurial spirit paved the way for him to become a successful truck salesman, longtime restaurant owner of Maggie’s Café in Brentwood and downtown Nashville and food services director at Brentwood Baptist Church for many years.
Brent was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church where Dr. Michael L. Glenn will conduct a service to celebrate his life at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at Brentwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the church.
