PLAYOFF ROUNDUP: Page sees special season end, Nolensville falls on road

PLAYOFF ROUNDUP: Page sees special season end, Nolensville falls on road

Below are two recaps of Williamson County playoff games.

Page

It’s been a splendid season for the ages out at Page High School, but sadly, all good things must come to an end.

The Patriots lost a tough one to visiting Beech Friday night 21-14, putting a cap on their 10-2 season.

The team got off to a good start with a Quincy Brock-Compton touchdown, but saw the Buccaneers roar back with 14 straight points.

Brock-Compton rushed another one in to even the score at 14 in the third, but Beech got the last score of the night on an Aaron Fox touchdown to give the competitors the final 21-14 advantage.

Brock-Compton led the team in rushing with 138 on the ground and the two tallies, while junior quarterback Cade Walker finishes his year as a Patriot with 147 in the air and 65 on the ground.

Class 5A Mr. Football semifinalist Michael Burdick finishes his senior season with four catches for 33 yards.

Page closes out the season as Region 5-5A champions, the school’s first honor there since the late-90s.

They will be honored as the WillCo Football 2018 Team of the Year later in the month.

Nolensville

The Nolensville Knights rounded out a 7-5 season on the road against Maplewood in a 28-3 loss.

Kicker Luke Jenkins had a field goal in the first half for the team’s sole points.

The game sees the Knights send off standouts like QB Brandon Wharton II, RB Colton Dooley and TE/DB Tim Stayskal.

It also concludes Paul Derrick’s first season as head coach.
