Police release name of man killed in Monday evening crash on Wilson Pike

A man killed as the result of a Monday collision on Wilson Pike was identified by Brentwood Police on Tuesday as police as John B. Holladay, 70, of 209 Dogwood Court in Brentwood.

Brentwood Police responded at 5:24 p.m. to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on Wilson Pike at the intersection of Carondelet Place.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Mr. Holladay was the front seat passenger in a 2004 Toyota Avalon sedan that was travelling south on Wilson Pike when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Carondelet Place. As the Toyota was making the turn it was struck on the passenger side by a 2001 Ford F-250 truck which was travelling north on Wilson Pike.

The driver and only occupant of the truck was not injured. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries. Holladay suffered critical injuries and was transported by Williamson County EMS to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

Wilson Pike was closed for approximately three hours while the investigation was conducted. Traffic was detoured through the nearby neighborhood during the closure.

Police did not identify the names of the drivers involved.
