After months of planning, the town of Nolensville will soon host its Star Spangled Celebration this Saturday, June 29 at Nolensville Park.
Hosted by the Town Events Committee, the celebration is a Nolensville specialty. Committee co-chairs Suzanne Honeycutt and Eric Williams lead the charge to organize food trucks, live music and fireworks for the community’s Independence Day celebration.
Honeycutt told Home Page the event typically draws an average attendance between 6,000 and 10,000 and is put on by 16 volunteers.
Beginning at 6 p.m., the event lasts as the sun sets and a fireworks show begins. But before the sky goes dark, those in attendance will enjoy a musical performance by 12-piece mega band Universal Crush. The band plays dance and party music across all genres including music from the last 30 years to today’s hits by artists like Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson, Celtic Women and more.
The celebration’s lineup of food trucks includes Outlander’s Southern Chicken, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Little Cancun on the Go, Dough Box, Buns on the Run, Hibachi4Hire, Hearty Hog, Nanny & Papa’s Concessions, Padrino’s Pops, 2 Girls N’ a Hotdog, Itty Bitty Donuts, Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Rolled 4 Ever Ice Cream and Bluegrass Kettle Masters.
As of Monday, June 24, the AccuWeather forecast predicts a mostly cloudy Saturday evening with a 25% chance of precipitation and a low around 69 degrees.
Should inclement weather hamper the festivities, organizers have scheduled a rain date for Sunday, June 30.
