NHS faculty nominated Keria Nashed for their Knights Making a Difference program this week.
Keria Nashed, daughter of Nadia and Wagih Nashed, is a junior at Nolensville High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the marching band, theatre and Mock Trial team at NHS. Outside of those activities, she said that photography is one of her biggest passions. She said she has been working on her photography for over five years and enjoys taking photos for school, friends and family.
Of her accomplishments, she said that joining band and having the courage to be in theatre are the two she is most proud of.
Mrs. Uebel, French teacher and World Language Department Chair at NHS, is Nashed’s favorite teacher.
“She’s a great teacher, but she also cares about every single one of her students and their lives” she said.
Uebel said of Nashed that she is thankful for her courage to stand up for classmates and her willingness to be open.
Her biggest role models and inspirations are her parents, Nadia and Wagih, and her sister, Victoria. She said that she appreciates them for always pushing her to do her best in everything.
When asked to describe herself in a few words, she listed “captivating, ambitious, caring and passionate.”
After graduating from NHS next year, she said she plans to attend Western Kentucky University to pursue a major in photojournalism. Eventually, she said that she hopes her job will allow her to travel the world.
