NHS faculty nominated Kaitlin Sizelove for their Knights Making a Difference program this week.
Kaitlin Sizelove, daughter of Jenifer and Paul Sizelove, is a senior at Nolensville High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is the Best Buddies president, Student Body Vice President, and is involved with several different organizations and clubs including: Mu Alpha Theta, HOSA- Future Health Professionals, National Honors Society and her home church’s youth group.
One of her greatest passions is finding ways to increase inclusion for students with special needs. This is clear through her dedication to Nolensville’s Best Buddies program, which she founded. She was also selected to be the Regional Coordinator for 14 other Best Buddies chapters.
Her favorite class at NHS is nursing.
“It is teaching me skills to prepare me for my career,” she said. One day, Sizelove hopes to become a nurse anesthetist.
Sizelove said her biggest inspiration and role model is her mother, Jenifer.
“She always works hard and encourages and supports me to be better and succeed,” she said.
Ms. Glenn, NHS’s nursing teacher, said of her, “She is a great role model in my nursing education class first and second periods. She comes to class each morning with a smile on her face and ready to work! She does a great job in taking the initiative to practice skills during our lab practice time and she gives it 100 percent. Also, she is an awesome HOSA officer and demonstrates leadership through that role as well.
After graduating from NHS this year, she plans to attend Samford or Belmont University to pursue a degree in nursing. Then, she will begin a Master’s program for anesthesia.
