NHS faculty nominated Amber Jones for their Knights Making a Difference program this week.
Amber Jones, daughter of Michelle and Terry Jones, is a junior at Nolensville High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the NHS Track & Field team and is involved with YoungLife and Jack & Jill of America, Inc.
Jones said that her biggest passions are food and competing in Track & Field.
Her favorite class at NHS is AP U.S. History with Mrs. Leeper.
“Mrs. Leeper is very enthusiastic about the material she goes over,” Jones said.
Her biggest role model is Olympic runner, Allyson Felix.
“She is a successful Olympic athlete and entrepreneur with 24 Olympic gold medals who gives back to her community,” she said.
Mrs. Leeper chose to nominate Jones for the Student of the Week honor. She said of Jones, “I’d like to nominate Amber Jones as the Student of the Week because of her work ethic and attitude. Each day, she comes to class prepared, ready to learn something new, ready to participate in small and large class discussions, and consistently has a positive attitude. Because of her hard work and the way she interacts with others, she makes the people around her better.”
After graduating from NHS next year, Jones plans to attend Howard University for her undergraduate degree and Pepperdine University for her master’s degree.
