Daniel Pert, son of Beth Malow and Stephen Pert, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He plays tennis and is a part of the Science Olympiad, Mu Alpha Theta, Art Club and the Common Ground club.
His favorite class at RHS is Precalculus Honors with Mrs. Cheryl Morency. “Math is my favorite subject,” Pert said.
Two of his biggest role models are his parents, Beth and Stephen. He said he looks up to them for inspiration and guidance.
“They understand me the most and are good role models,” he said.
When asked to find two words that described himself, Pert said hardworking and insightful.
Mrs. Morency said of Pert, “Daniel is a consistently outstanding math student who also does an excellent job in representing Ravenwood in high level math competitions. This month at the interscholastic Math League competition, Daniel scored the highest out of more than 50 students from schools across Middle Tennessee who took the Precalculus test. That helped Ravenwood be the highest ranked team at that competition.”
After graduating from RHS, he said he plans to go to college to pursue a degree in chemical engineering.
