William Baine, son of Amy and Rod Baine, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
Outside of the classroom, Baine’s biggest passion is football. He is a member of the varsity football team and was selected to be the captain of the team this year.
“It has helped make me into who I am today,” Baine said of the sport.
Baine said his favorite teacher is Ms. Dykes.
“She makes her class fun,” he said.
Dykes said of Baine, “William Baine deserves to be Student of the Week because he is an inspiration to many. William is thoughtful and attentive in class, a leader on the football field, and kind and encouraging to all. He greets other students and me with a genuine smile every day as he enters the classroom and continues smiling throughout the class period. William is truly a class act.”
One person that Baine said he looks to for guidance and inspiration is Peyton Manning.
“I grew up a huge fan of him and he was always a leader and pushed his team to be the best,” he said.
After graduating from RHS this year, he will attend The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He plans to study business.
