Quinton Gardner, son of Nicole Gardner and Anthony Hobbson, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Wrestling Team at RHS. He said that one of his biggest passions is self-competition.
“You shouldn’t worry about what others are doing,” Gardner said. “Instead, take a look at yourself and strive to be one percent better each day.”
His favorite teacher at RHS is Mrs. Hawken.
“She always pushes me to achieve my full potential in class,” he said.
Hawken said of Gardner, “Quentin deserves to be honored for his outstanding work ethic in Algebra II. I appreciate all his hard work to come in and be successful in his math class. Quentin is always willing to answer questions and ask questions in class. I have noticed him on the sidelines under the Friday Night Lights helping any way he can.”
One of his biggest role models is professional football player Christian McCaffery.
“He is nice to everyone no matter what and always gives 100 percent on the field,” he said.
After graduating from RHS, Gardner plans to attend college. After completing his undergraduate degree, he hopes to enroll in a graduate program to become a veterinarian.
