Mary Wallis Bradley
Mary Wallis Bradley, daughter of Wendy and Doug Bradley, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is the Executive Officer of JROTC and competes specifically in Color Guard, rifle, drill, and Raiders. She is also involved with the RHS Robotics Club and HOSA.
She said that becoming Executive Officer, as well as being on the Varsity Rifle Team, are two of her biggest accomplishments.
“I have helped my team in winning our first Robotics competition making us State qualified,” she said.
Outside of JROTC, one of her biggest passions is Robotics.
“It is an activity I enjoy with all of my friends and I know that it helps me develop skills I will use for the rest of my life,” she said.
Her favorite teacher, and one of her biggest role models, is Sergeant Major Screeton.
“He cares about his students and gives up his free time to supervise our clubs and activities,” she said. “[He] takes time to get to know us and make sure we are doing well in all our classes.”
Screeton said of Bradley, “Mary can be counted upon to lead in group situations and give assistance to those requiring extra help. Mary is a well-rounded student who is capable of successfully taking on a multitude of tasks. Mary is not only well-liked and respected by faculty and administration, but by her peers as well.”
After graduating from RHS next year, Bradley plans to go to college to pursue a major in Nursing. After completing her degree, she hopes to become an officer in the Air Force.
