Jack Berexa, son of Kristin and Daniel Berexa, is a sophomore at Brentwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of the Debate Team, Model UN, Youth in Government, Amnesty International and the Spanish Honors Society. He is a Youth in Government officer and a Model UN Security Council President
One of his biggest passions is Model UN/ Youth in Government. He said he loves it “for the awesome people, the passionate, global culture,” and the general activities he gets to do.
His favorite class at RHS is Spanish. “Learning a new language seems like one of the most practical and useful skills that is taught in high school and is also super fun,” he said.
Ms. Dirkes-Jacks, the AP Psychology teacher at RHS, is his role model.
“She’s insanely smart and always there to talk,” he said. “She has been a huge part of my growth as a debater and person in general.”
Dirkes-Jacks said of Berexa, “Jack is a hard worker and conscientious team member. He genuinely cares about his teammates and works together with others well. He works to see from others’ perspectives and is genuinely inquisitive into the topics we discuss. Jack’s kindness and enthusiasm are contagious!”
As far as collegiate plans, Berexa is currently undecided.
