Sara Marrs, daughter of Susan and Doug Marrs, is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of several different groups and organizations at RHS including Marching Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, JROTC Staff, HOSA Future Health Professionals, Cultural Heritage Club, and JROTC Color Guard. Not only is she a member of the Color Guard, but she is also a captain. She is also a weekly volunteer at the library.
One of Marrs’s biggest passions is helping others. “I look forward to doing that in the career I plan to pursue,” she said.
Her favorite class at RHS is Health Science. She said of the subject, “I love learning about the field I’m interested in pursuing a career in.”
JROTC’s Chief Hays said of Marrs, “Sara is an outstanding leader. She never forgets a task, treats others with respect, and always asks what she could do better.”
Her sister Emma is one of her biggest inspirations and role models. “She is a great example of the skills and qualities I would like to have,” she said of her sister.
After graduating from RHS, she plans to go to college to pursue a career as a Neonatal Nurse.
