Presley Stern, daughter of Adam and Sheila Stern, is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of JROTC and enjoys volunteering and interning.
One of her biggest passions is helping her community. “We are all so blessed to be in the situations we are in, and it is important for us to help those who are not as fortunate.
Her favorite teachers at RHS are Sergeant Major Screeton and Chief Hays. “[They] prepare us for our futures by teaching us the skills we need to be successful.”
Stern’s mother, Sheila, is one of her top role models. She said that she left home at 18 years old to join the airforce and has also recently earned her doctorate.
Sergeant Major Screeton said of Stern:
Presley volunteers her study focus time to help with Freshman JROTC Cadets on a daily basis. I have found Presley to be dependable, conscientious, personable, and goal-oriented. Presley possesses an exceptional sense of responsibility and maturity. As a vital member of the JROTC Program, Presley demonstrates the qualities and character of a natural leader, continuously serving as a model to fellow cadets. She can be counted on upon to lead in group situations and to give assistance to those requiring extra help.
After graduating from RHS, she plans to enroll at the U.S. Airforce Academy.
