Kylie Norcross, daughter of Jen and Cameron Norcross, is a freshman at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of Art Club and enjoys cheering on her siblings in their respective sports.
One of her biggest passions is pursuing equal rights for all, no matter their race, gender, sex, or sexual orientation.
Norcross recently was awarded an outstanding delegate title at a Model United Nations assembly.
Her favorite class is Biology with Ms. Hunt. “She works really hard and teaches an interesting subject,” Norcross said.
While she didn’t list a specific role model, she said that “anyone who stands up for themselves and works for a better life for others” is her role model.
Tiffany Tucker, RHS’s Librarian said of Norcross, “I think Kylie Norcross, who volunteers her time in the library every day during her study hall, should be Student of the Week for her random act of kindness to a new RHS student. She invited this student to join her and her friends during lunch, explaining, ‘I know how tough it can be to the new kid and not know anybody or have anyone to sit with.”
Although she is only a freshman, she said she already has her sights set on one day becoming an astrophysicist.
