Olivia Lamb, daughter of Tammy and Davis, is a junior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the Varsity Competition Cheer Team and the Varsity Sideline Football Cheer Team.
Lamb says that cheering and tumbling are her biggest passions. She said both have been lifelong passions and that she loves “the challenges and hard work that come from cheer.”
For the past two years, the Varsity Competition Cheer Team has won State. At Nationals in Florida, the team achieved sixth place.
When it comes to academics, Lamb said her favorite teacher at RHS is Mr. Oswanski. “English isn’t my best subject, but he has made the class fun and interesting for me and is always willing to help with my writing.”
Oswanski said of Lamb, “Olivia is consistently one of the hardest workers in my classes. She masterfully manages her busy schedule. Best of all, despite her many talents, she remains humble and appreciates what others do for her.”
One of her biggest role models and inspirations is her mother, Tammy. “She encourages me to be the best I can be every day and supports me with everything I do,” she said.
As she still has a year of high school left, Lamb is currently weighing her collegiate options. However, she said, “I am looking forward to experiencing different academics and meeting new people, as well as continuing my cheerleading career.”
